The Strength of children…
I was stressing over the thousand and one things (real, imagined,
exaggerated, or otherwise) that one can find to stress over if will
power and focus is set to being stressed when a show came on the
television. It was on Discovery Health and the title was, “Face Eating Tumor“.
My very first glimpse of the five year old little boy, Novemthree, and
I was brought face to face with the real stresses, pain, and troubles
that other people were forced to live with. The program followed Novemthree
through three surgeries he went through in order to try and recover his
face from gigantiform cementoma and it was heartbreaking. The strength
of that little boy to smile through what fate had given him to deal
with was inspiring. I have constantly been amazed at how resilient the
human spirit, especially in the form of children, can be. Watching his mother
holding him when he finally was able to go home after not seeing him
for three and a half months was a joy. All this mother and father
wanted for their child was a chance to live the best life he could live
and you could just see the love they had for him as they interacted
with him. I wish all peace, and strength, and hope to this whole
family, and to the incredible doctors through the Tzu Chi Foundation who gave their time, energy, and hearts to helping this boy.

Just in case you didn’t see the post script to his story,,Novemthree died on September 14th, 2005. His tumor started to regrow and he succumbed to a respiratory infection. The Dr’s said that any more surgery would have killed him.
