Allergy discrimination…
I’m out of town for a weekend with my girlfriend and of course this is the time my allergies should decide to flare up into head banging high gear. So we stopped at the store for me to get some Tylenol Severe Congestion, and I wasn’t surprised to find the little cards you take up to the pharmacy to pick up the "over the counter" medications as that has become pretty standard. When I got to the counter, however, I was given a look over and asked to see my driver’s license. Okay, that was new, but whatever, then she looked it over and (I’m guessing) saw it was out of state and said she would be right back. She took my license over to the phone and made a call…I suppose to check and see if I was on the national Tylenol street seller organization list. She came back and started typing all my information into the computer, asked for my finger print…no, it was my phone number! I was waiting for the finger print kit to come out, though, or perhaps a retinal scan. She kindof laughed a little at this point, and I grinned and told her that this could constitute discrimination against Allergy sufferers!
My name is Kelly and I suffer from allergies and am highly prone to sinus infections, slap a pollen labeled arm band on me and call it a day.
**Please note I am not making light of the real issues of misusing over the counter medications, but it was still a humorous (and very odd) situation for me.
