School supply high…
I started yet another semester on my looooooong road towards finishing my bachelor’s degree yesterday. Julie’s picture of the day made me smile realizing how much I still enjoy stocking up for the beginning of school. I can still completely feel that thrill of being in grade school and getting that box full of brand new crayons. It is so funny the things that stay in our minds for so many years. I particularly remember one year getting a box of 64 crayons–I thought I had reached heaven. Other years I had made due with the 24 count or maybe the occasional 48 count, but that year, that year was 64 choices of amazing colors. One in particular stood out because you could only get that color in the 64 crayon box, Burnt Sienna, how I loved Burnt Sienna and would love it even through high school when I still pulled out a box of crayons to color the back ground of a note to my boyfriend.
These days my addiction is more with finding the perfect pens and pencils and always having an abundance of tabs to stick everywhere in my books–and of course, two fresh spiral notebooks even if I barely used the ones from the semester before. I think it’s a good thing that I’ll be going to school forever just so I can have that new school supply high each semester!

I know exactly what you mean. I still feel that way when I get new notepads, or a new box of pens. The world seems fresh and new and I could do anything! Then reality sets in…
Happy new semester!
Who needs school as an excuse? I visit the office supply aisle all the time and buy paper, notebooks (a favorite), pencils and pens and sticky tabs and stickers and, well you get the idea. I love it! Plus, nothing beats the smell of a newly opened box of crayons, yum!
