Walking the Wall

 Every once in awhile when I have to go shopping but I’m not really in the mood for it, I decide I don’t care how ridiculous I look and pop my earphones in, rev up my iPod, and shop to music. Today was just one of those days, but I made a huge mistake…I pulled up The Proclaimers and started off with “I’m on my way”:

Now you tell me, how do you listen to this song (or really any of the Proclaimers) without getting a spring to your step and a goofy grin on your face? Apparently I don’t know how to do it because I caught myself on more than one occasion bouncing along and *think* I might have sang the lines, “And now that I don’t want for anything / I’ll have Al Jolson sing ‘I’m sitting on top of the world’” out loud once. I won’t even think about how I must have looked when 500 miles came on because you have to be a robot to hear that song and not have a spring in your step (don’t worry S., I won’t put up the video of you karaoke singing this from last New Year’s Eve…although it did briefly cross my mind)!

Now I just have to figure out how to go to sleep with this song running around in my head and having the audacity to keep me grinning all night.
