Never too old…

Perfection!I asked my kids (both teenagers) if we were going to be painting eggs this year. They hmm’ed and hmph’ed and shrugged, looking quite disinterested. I was disappointed. I know they aren’t going to stay young forever–but I’m not ready to give up on their childhoods quite yet.

Today we went over to my friend Sherry’s house to make Easter chocolate and they both got into the Easter spirit making candy and generally having a blast–and both in agreement that egg making is now a must. My daughter was quite pleased with how her rabbit turned out and even my son got into making some chocolate suckers. I hope I can talk them into making candy and painting eggs when they’re 25!

And then, just as I thought my daughter might be “growing up” and worried that she was getting “too old” she walked into the kitchen with Sherry’s son looking like this:

Proof

I think her childhood is safely intact–and that’s just the way I’d like it to stay.
