We had another successful year of Cookie Day at my mom’s house on Saturday. 800+ cookies were rolled, baked, counted, frosted, decorated, divided, and nearly all consumed by now. This leaves me with a sugar high that has contributed to my not sleeping very well for the last two nights–all well worth the time spent watching kids and adults covered in flour and frosting sing, dance, and bicker.
The highlight of the day, for me, was watching my mom do a little swing style dancing with my niece while we listened to oldies music. I think it was a first and would have loved to have had my camera at hand. Other highlights caught on camera can be found here.
Cookie Day officially starts the Thanksgiving festivities for this family and we are all looking forward to Grandma (of the 137+Grandma fame) coming in to town on Tuesday to spend the rest of the week with us.
